Support Gillian Fyees in Her Cancer Battle

I am writing this in the hope of helping my mother, Gillian Fyees, through this difficult time. My mother, at just 50 years old, underwent a routine colonoscopy on May 2nd, 2024. The results we received were far from what we expected. She was diagnosed with colorectal cancer, which we then found out was stage 4. The cancer had spread to her liver and lungs. The past week has been a whirlwind for my family. She has already undergone two surgeries and is expected to start chemotherapy by the end of this month if everything goes well.

My mother, who raised my sister and me as a single mother, has always been a resilient woman who has worked extremely hard for everything she has provided us. She is a woman who has a quiet, gentle soul and has always been self-sufficient. She has never had everything she wanted, but she never relied on anyone for help or handouts and never complained. These past two years have been extremely rough for her. She lost her tenured job, and while diligently searching for another job, she has only been able to establish a part-time job. She has also been struggling with crippling sciatica, arthritis, and a slipped disc, which further limits her mobility now more than ever. With this diagnosis, my family and I have been put in an even more strenuous position as medical expenses are overwhelming. At the cusp of battling this terrible disease, our financial independence has already been compromised. The uncertainty of what lies ahead, the medical expenses, and living expenses are all becoming an added weight. Please help us ease the financial burden she will face going forward.
