SUPPORT GINA IN HER BATTLE AGAINST BONE CANCER

Dear Friends,

Let’s Help Gina Defray the cost of her Medical Treatments and care. As some of you are aware, my sister Gina Schulte Dvorak is a breast cancer survivor and is now battling a rare form of bone cancer at 58 years of age. Gina has dedicated 26 years as a Dispatcher to the Lavaca County Sheriff’s Department. Due to recent health circumstances, Gina had to resign from her position and can no longer fulfill her work responsibilities. Gina recently spent five weeks in MD Anderson, and had spent the last three weeks at Hallettsville Rehabilitation, working to regain her strength. Gina has now returned home with continued home care.

Gina has been battling this disease for the past 5 years and will continue to battle this disease with amazing resiliency and positivity. But the time has come dear friends, for us to help this amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. The pain was unbearable; however with pain management the pain is tolerable. Gina can now stand with assistance and sit for short periods of time. Gina will continue to try and regain her strength with rehabilitation. The financial burden has become overwhelming. The five-year battle including numerous surgeries, treatments, hospital stays, appointments, and alternative care, has taken a physical, emotional, and financial toll. We are kindly asking for any support you are able to give Gina and her family at this time, whether that comes monetarily, through prayers, or acts of kindness.

Gina lives in Hallettsville with her husband Keith and daughter Karis. Karis is currently attending Blinn College. Their adult children are Kale Furrh, wife Chelsie, granddaughter Calli of Sweet Home; Kori Cooper, Husband Jimmy, granddaughter Emerson of New Braunfels; Kodi Dvorak, wife Emily and granddaughter Audrey of Hallettsville. Gina loves spending time with her family and cherishes time spent with her three grandchildren.
