Support Gina Noftle's Fight Against Rare Cancer

Hello, my name is Maria Nappa, I truly appreciate you taking the time to read this story. I am the cousin of Gina Noftle, a 56 year old woman, wife, mother, sister, aunt and dear friend whom is loved by so many. I created this GoFundMe account in hopes of reaching many individuals to consider helping her family who is in great need right now. On July 6, 2024, Gina was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, Dedifferentiated Liposarcoma (DDLS). For those of you that do not know what this is, it is a fast-growing, high grade soft tissue sarcoma that grows in the retroperitoneal - this is the tissue that lines the abdominal wall of the stomach. Due to this type of tumor, the growth can be extensive quickly and surgery very complex. Gina was diagnosed fairly late in her disease process with her tumor being quite large. It has left her very sick, weak and needing constant care. She unfortunately is not able to work due to these circumstances. Her husband and family have been taking turns caring for her from doctor appointments to care at home they have remained a constant support system for her. She most recently underwent seven weeks of radiation, guided by her medical team in hopes of being a candidate for surgery. However; after a recent doctor appointment she has found out that surgery in the Boston area is no longer an option for her. This recent news has been devasting for our family. If you know Gina, she is a "fighter". She wants to live and still has so much life in her. She has a heart of gold and would do anything for her family, no questions asked. It was her hope to complete radiation and have surgery to remove the tumor in turn moving forward in her disease process to regain her health and wellness. With her families support they have been working closely with many specialists around the country regarding Gina's case. It is their hope that Gina will be able to have surgery guided by a prestigious medical team specializing in this rare cancer. This however comes at a great cost. It requires travel, lodging, food and also requires medical expenses to be paid for surgery which insurance out of state does not fully cover. Gina's family expenses are already fully strained right now. They have a mortgage like any one else, bills to pay for, food and other living expenses. If Gina's medical case is taken on, this will require things to move along very quickly so that Gina can relocate with family to have surgery across the country. I am trying to help her family raise funds to off set these costs, to lessen the stress of all of this so that they may fully focus on what is important, Gina. Any money donated will be fully used to support Gina and her family as they continue to navigate this incredibly difficult time.
