Support Gloria Hill on her journey to beat cancer

Gloria’s story….

In 2017, she received her initial diagnosis of T cell lymphoma. After enduring several grueling weeks of chemotherapy, she achieved remission. In 2019, after a span of 19 months, she experienced a relapse. In January 2020, she underwent an Autologous Stem Cell Transplant, utilizing her own stem cells, which resulted in her remaining in remission for 3 and a half years. Unfortunately, the cancer has returned for the third time. Her current oncologist in North Carolina has initiated another round of chemotherapy to potentially restore her to remission. The chemo was able to stop 90% of the cancer but they detected a growth in her pelvic area which caused them to stop the chemo and place her on steroids to slow the growth of the tumor. In the meantime, her new Oncologist in Texas is looking into other methods to get her in remission to have a transplant. Her new oncologist in Texas is exploring alternative methods to achieve remission in preparation for a transplant.

Following consultations with her oncologist and medical team in Texas, it has been recommended that she undergo an Allogenic Transplant, which entails using a donor's stem cells, for a more sustainable long-term survival solution.

We are uncertain about the duration of the treatment required. She will need to travel back and forth between Houston, TX, for an estimated duration of approximately one year. Despite having health insurance, it will not cover expenses such as flights, hotel stays, temporary housing, meals, and transportation during her treatment, effectively necessitating her to split her time between two states. Our primary objective is to raise a minimum of $25,000 to assist her throughout this journey towards achieving full remission. This period will pose a substantial financial burden on both her and her family, and we are aware of the vast number of people who care deeply for her and wish to express their support.
