Support Gloucester Educators!
The Union of Gloucester Educators are currently on strike.
Students, staff, and families have been raising the alarm for months. We need real solutions now in order to build the schools our community deserves! They are striking to win real changes to the Gloucester Public Schools.
UGE is holding the line for a living wage for hardworking para-professsionals, paid parental leave for all educators, safe and healthy schools for all students and educators - and more! If they don't take a stand now, we may never be able to save our schools.
As the union heads into next week, we are raising money to:
- Help provide resources to members facing financial hardship due to the strike.
- Address any additional impacts on the UGE and its members.
The mayor and the school committee continue to use threats and the legal system to try to bust the union.
Every donation tells them we will be there for them in this struggle.
Please support UGE as they fight for a fair contract!
*Note: I am the former president of MTA who is just so proud of these courageous educators. Delighted to be able to support them.
These funds will be going to the Union of Gloucester Educators.
