Help us Redefine Healthy Masculinity by promoting Self-Control with the Go! Go! Self-Control campaign!
At the intersection of all faiths and human moral codes is individual responsibility, a concept that has seemed to have been forgotten. So, the mission of the Go! Go! Self-Control campaign is to bring awareness to this responsibility while also making it fun, cool and popular.
As a matter of fact, the Go! Go! Self-Control campaign is bringing sexy back by making Self-Control itself sexy. We are redefining healthy masculinity as self-control and broadcasting it into the airwaves so loud it can't be ignored. Just the simple focus on teaching youth self-control can impact a generation of young men to be more compassionate toward women and eliminate violence before it begins.
For example, remember "This is your brain on drugs?" Yeah, like that, but on steroids. Have you ever seen a PSA about ending violence against women, girls and youth? Me either. So WE are going to make it.
What are we making? A Public Service Announcement campaign to educate, persuade, inform, and remind the public that men and boys are personally responsible for their behavior. We are educating the public (because not enough people are doing it) to understand what being loving and respectful towards women, girls and youth looks like. Let's make enthusiastic consent popular so that all women and girls feel safe and valued. Let's make restraint cool so that children are quicker to use words than fists by promoting self-control to parents while we're at it!
We are extremely proud to say that the Waterfall Unity Alliance (they're amazing) is the fiscal sponsor of the Go! Go! Self-Control! campaign. That means all your donations to create Public Service Announcements educating people about Self-Control are 100% tax-deductible. In addition, volunteers are welcome because we can't do this alone! We are also partnering with another nonprofit called "A Call to Men" which promotes healthy manhood with trainings and educational resources for companies, government agencies, schools, and community groups.
So what's the plan, huh? In Stage 1, we're going to accomplish a few things:
1) Produce and finalize the "Self-Control" theme song.
2) Hire production team and produce 3 PSA's.
3) Create marketing campaign and buy advertising.
4) Hire part-time grant-writer, social media manager, and project manager.
In reality, this is more than just a PSA about self-control. Go! Go! Self-Control is about nurturing a generation that values respect, compassion, and self-regulation above all else. This is about bringing those of us who believe in a better future together. At Go! Go! Self-Control a future where everyone, women, girls, youth and elders are all safe is possible.
