Urgent Call for Humanitarian Relief in Goma
Goma, our beloved city, has endured over four years of unrelenting conflict. This past week, the situation has reached a critical point. The city is under siege, surrounded by armed forces, with no access to water, electricity, security or food. More than 3 million lives are in distress, including vulnerable children, women, and the elderly.
We are now on the verge of a civil war, and the humanitarian crisis is escalating rapidly.
As members of the Global Shapers Community Goma Hub and in collaboration with Grand African Projects, we are calling on all friends, partners, and allies to join us in advocating for a humanitarian corridor to deliver urgently needed relief. Our hub is committed to standing on the side of humanity during this critical moment.
In the absence of functioning local banking systems, we are launching a GoFundMe campaign to collect funds, which will then be transferred securely to Goma via Western Union. Every contribution—big or small—will go directly to purchasing essential supplies like food, water, medical aid, and emergency shelter for those most in need.
How You Can Help
1. Donate: Contribute to our GoFundMe campaign and help us reach families in desperate need.
2. Share : Amplify our message by sharing this call for help with your networks.
3.Partner : Join us in pressuring for the creation of a humanitarian corridor.
What Your Support Will Do
- Provide food and water to displaced families.
- Ensure access to emergency medical care.
- Distribute hygiene kits and shelter materials to those who’ve lost everything.
This is not just a call for aid—this is a plea for solidarity. Goma is in crisis, and we cannot do this alone. We must unite as a community to prevent further suffering and uphold our shared humanity.
