Support Gone to the Dogs Rescue's Mobile Adoption Program

Tax deductible
Hello, we are a small community based recognized Hometown Charity organization, serving California. We have served our community for almost 14 years with integrity and honesty. Our track record of successful adoptions is only limited by our grass roots outreach we've been able to implement over our time. We've survived COVID times that virtually pushed a lot of foster based rescues out of business. We operate solely with volunteers and have no paid staff. Every dollar goes to rescue pets in danger of euthanasia in our public animal shelters across CA, focusing on higher kill shelters in rural and underserved areas who do not get a lot of foot traffic for adoption. We strive to obtain comprehensive veterinary care and make-adoption-ready procedures, supplies and services. These include spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchips, grooming, dentals and provide dog training to help get pets adoptable once we rescue them. They are fostered in our homes as you guessed it, we do not have money to maintain, purchase or build our own shelter/kennel.

We operate solely on volunteers who house/foster our dogs in their homes. This is a 24/7 job. Most notably our core volunteer pipeline all maintain full time jobs outside of rescue. We are your teachers, your nurses, your tax managers, your drivers, your police dispatchers, your neighbors. We are grateful for the help we get for veterinary care, however there is no "left overs" for things like supplies, vehicle/van purchase or big ticket purchases like property or transportation vehicles. We've started this campaign born out of an idea to help promote more adoptions, education on volunteering, animal welfare and reach more of the public by making our adoptions a mobile endeavor. Wouldn't it be great to adopt out more dogs and being able to save more from the shelter? With our limited foster space, it is imperative to hold dogs in "foster" longer because they are not seen or seen in public. This delays adoption for sometimes, months.

All while we see continuous stream of dogs in need, who are euthanasia listed. We must be able to create space to help more animals. With our mobile adoption trailer, events we attend for adoptions and outreach can be more frequent and scheduled regularly. Currently we have 3-4 of our personal cars that carry equipment, dogs, supplies to events therefore limiting us for attendance and outreach. We envision a mobile adoption center as a lightweight cargo trailer we can hook up to our vehicles and use 1 rather than logistical limitations and several volunteers using their own cars and relying on their work/family schedules. We are patient and thorough and have established some fundraising tools to meet our goal, but we need YOUR help to realize the dream of helping more shelter dogs. Please consider donating to our project and helping impact more shelter dogs at risk of euthanasia.
