Support Grandma Gloria’s Remains Make Final Journey Home

On October 24, 2024, I took my grandma Gloria into my care after she was unable to care for herself under the care of my grandpa who is 85 (US Air Force Veteran that had very little saved due to what I believe were scams and sadly enough not being able to get their life insurance in place on time). Her health declined quickly after a series of mini strokes, on set dementia and a fall. This past month has not been easy. I decided to request leave from my job and bring her into home hospice so that I could take care of her.
Before she left us on November 27, 2024, we flew my mom out that morning to see her before she took her last breath. The rest of her children and family live in the Philippines and spent hours with us on video calls day and night longing to be with her.
Grandma Gloria was an amazing and dedicated caregiver her entire life. She even owned her own home-care and taught me a lot. She deserved the best of care and I can only hope I made her proud with the care I provided her in her final days with us. It was an honor to be a part of her journey, and my only goal now is to fulfill her last desire to return home and be with the majority of the family.
My mom petitioned her to the states in 1986. My grandma worked so hard to petition the rest of her children but it didn’t work out as planned. The last time she visited the Philippines was in 1999 and she worked tirelessly until 2020 (age 72) to send money back home to her kids and save enough to visit again (which sadly never happened) With her sudden passing and no financial security in place, I'm raising funds for a cremation with small family service and to take her remains to the Philippines to her final resting place. Her kids in the Philippines wished for her body to be returned home but I knew that was not something I could do financially, so they all have come to terms with just having her cremated remains returned home.
Grandma Gloria Ruprecht is survived by her family in the United States: her husband Robert Ruprecht, 1 daughter Susan, 1 granddaughter Kristina & grandson Sam, and 4 great grandchildren Isaiah, Zayden, Lliyah, & Khyson. As well as her remaining family in the Philippines: 1 daughter, 2 sons, 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several siblings, and many other relatives.
If you are compelled to help or share, my family would appreciate it so much. This happened so suddenly and has left me no choice but to reach out to those willing to help a family in need. Thank you, God bless ❤️
