Support the Beasley Family

On January 5th, the Beasley family’s life was forever changed. As Gray was packing to head back to Bridgewater College for the second semester of his junior year, he felt sudden and severe neck pain followed by tingling and numbness in his arms which progressed rapidly. Shortly after his 17 year old sister Bailee was able to get him to the hospital, Gray was unable to move and became unresponsive. Testing revealed that Gray had suffered from an extremely rare spinal stroke causing subsequent quadriplegia. Doctors have been unable to determine the cause of Gray’s stroke.

Since that time, he has been hospitalized in the ICU where he and his family adjust to this unexpected reality while continuing to focus on the next steps for his recovery. Gray has fortunately been accepted to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia for an intensive rehab program where he will work hard towards regaining mobility and function for several months. While the future is uncertain, we are all hopeful, knowing that with Gray’s determination, grit, and positive attitude, he will make incredible strides towards his recovery!

To witness Gray in how he has handled the situation has been profoundly humbling. As a 21 year old college student, facing a life altering challenge while preserving his hope, humor, and thankfulness- qualities that uplift everyone around him, has been simply awe inspiring. He is such a wonderful person and it is a joy to know him. We are forever thankful that the stroke did not affect his brain and all the things that make him the incredible person he is!

This GoFundMe has been set up to help ease some of the financial strain on the Beasley family during this challenging time. Medical expenses continue to mount. Gray’s mom, Susanne, has taken a leave of absence from work to be with him at the Shepherd Center while she receives support and training. Gray’s dad, Chip, and Bailee will be traveling back and forth to Atlanta to visit as they prepare their home to accommodate Gray’s needs upon his return. The family also needs to purchase a wheelchair-accessible vehicle for transportation to therapy and doctor appointments.
We kindly ask for your support, whether through donations or prayers, as the Beasley family navigates this difficult journey. Please pray for Gray to regain function and for the strength, peace, and endurance of him and his family. Your kindness and generosity are so appreciated!
