Support Gumbus's Journey to a Healthy Life

Hi, my name is Victoria, and my cat’s name is Gumbus. I rescued her, and have since discovered that she has many threatening congenital issues that need treating. She is one year old and has a cleft palate, only 6 visible teeth, PPM (persistent pupillary membrane) and early signs of glaucoma. As of today she has received her first dental surgery. She needs all of her teeth that haven’t come through removed which will be at least $8,000. She will also most likely need surgery for her eyes in the future.

I rescued her when she was four months old. She was very malnourished and had Giardia for the first six months after I brought her home. It has been so heartbreaking realizing she will need so many invasive procedures done at such a young age, and coming to terms that she will most likely go blind. I will happily spend all that I need to in order to make sure that she is ok, but I am now at the end of my savings and she still needs more procedures.

She had to go to the emergency room recently, and during her most recent surgery they found some black plaque inside of her. They don’t currently know what that is, but she is getting a biopsy done. Seeing how things are going, she will likely need some more expensive surgeries in the future. She is such a sweet girl and she deserves to live a happy life. Any funds that would help her reach where she needs to be would be incredibly appreciated. If she does not receive these surgeries she will have major complications. She is my whole world.
