Support Guy Shabtay's Family

You may remember Guy Shabtay as a student-athlete at Prairie State College and then Valparaiso University. After graduating, he returned to Israel, enrolled in yeshiva, got married, and started a family.
Earlier this year, Guy served a tour in Gaza, and after being home for a few months, he was called up to serve again, this time in Lebanon. Two weeks ago, he was seriously injured in battle, and last Friday, he sadly succumbed to his wounds and his soul was returned to its maker, just shy of his 40th birthday.
During his years here, our community got to know and love this gem of a young man. His constant smile radiated a joy for life, and he continued being a person everyone loved to be with, throughout his journey back in Israel, in school and at work.
He leaves behind a beautiful family, his wife Reut, and their daughters, Gefen, Halleli, and Chana. He was the light of their lives, one that cannot easily be replaced.
This GoFundMe is being set up by Guy's friends from the United States, who knew and loved him for many years. While this certainly cannot replace the tremendous loss, our hope is that it will at least bring them some measure of comfort, and help ease the pain, allowing them to focus on moving forward.
All funds raised here will delivered by check to Guy's family for them to use as they see fit.
Please share it further, to anyone who is able to help the family during these immensely painful times.
Thank you for your generosity!
