Handicap Entry at St. Mary's Church
Donation protected
Hi, and thank you for stopping by. My name is Sean Mantler and I am raising funds to help St. Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church in Huntsville Alabama fund their ongoing project to create an entry for the mobility challenged as well as memorialize my father, who passed away this year after a years-long battle with two different cancers and heart disease.
St. Mary's is the oldest Catholic church in Huntsville and they have never had a handicap entrance. They have started construction to create one but are far shy of the $100,000 cost of completion. This project requires extensive changes to the grounds as well as the building itself as it was never designed to have a street-level entryway. My goal is to raise $5000 toward this effort and donate all funds to St. Marys in the name of my father.
My father, Milton, was a Huntsville resident since the mid-1960s and a long-time active member of St. Mary's. He was a man of strong faith and found great solace and strength attending mass and teaching about his faith to countless others. It was only after his passing that I learned that, during the later stages of his decline, there were times that he made it out of bed and to the church, only to have to return home because he didn't have the strength to make it up the steps. This fact is what has motivated me to start this fundraiser.
Thank you for your consideration.
