Support Haydin Gaylor's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
My name is Shannon Dobbins Haydin and I am raising funds on behalf of my nephew, Haydin Gaylor. On Monday, March 17th, Haydin had a not-so-lucky St. Patrick's Day. As he was walking to class, a car traveling 40-45 mph ran a red light, hitting 3 Embry-Riddle students, including Haydin, innocently crossing the street to go to class, just like any other Monday. Haydin's injuries include a broken clavicle (in two places), a compound fracture of his left tib-fib, a broken finger, fractured T3-T6 vertebral transverse processes, a big old cut and goose egg on his head, as well as multiple contusions all over his body. Haydin took the brunt of the hit.
Haydin is a Marine Corps veteran who served 5 years in the HMX-1 helicopter unit. He finished his tour last year and enrolled in Embry-Riddle, studying aerospace engineering.
Though Haydin was lucky in that his injuries could have been much, much worse given the speed of the car, he still has a long way to go to recover.
As a result of his injuries, Haydin cannot return to his current apartment while he is recovering; he must have housing that accommodates his new mobility limitations until he is all healed up.
This GoFundMe is intended to raise funds to secure housing for the next few months until Haydin can return to his apartment, as well as cover any other needs he may have while he recovers.
