Help Hayley and her family fight MS

2019 was a life-changing year for Hayley and Daniel. In June, Hayley graduated from Sierra College with 3 degrees; in July, they had a beautiful son; and in October, they were married.
Just one week before Hayley & Daniel’s beautiful wedding day, Hayley was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Hayley’s doctor believes the pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding of her son Reagan is what delayed symptoms of what was later diagnosed as a severe case of RRMS (relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis). Most people diagnosed with MS are in their thirties or forties. Hayley was diagnosed at age 22.
Since then, they have been dealing with challenges far beyond those of most young couples. Hayley and Reagan are now living with her parents, Brad and Kelle, at Kelle's mother's house in Redding: Hayley's vision challenges and inability to walk on her own necessitates constant care for both her and baby Reagan.
Daniel is working full time in the Sacramento area and driving to Redding on the weekends to spend time with his wife and child. Hayley is unable to work, and her father, Brad, was driving a truck but quit to support Hayley and Dan. Before her physical symptoms worsened and she was diagnosed, Hayley was attending Sacramento State, working toward her degree in Social Work, as well as working full time. She now is unable to work and study.
They are navigating social services and leaning heavily on family, but finances are stretched thin. A special all-natural, whole food diet that calls for organic and grass-fed meat and organic fruit and vegetables has been helping Hayley, but is very costly; every little bit helps.
They remain optimistic and strong, but will need all of our support. It has been a rollercoaster of increased expenses, decreased income, and joy from their new marriage and baby amidst a shocking, life-changing diagnosis.
In Hayley's words: The last couple months since learning about my diagnosis have been rough. Having to learn how to live and function differently has truly been hard. In the end the choice is ours as we bring in the new decade, and things can only go up from here!
Donations from their family and friends will help them with their daily expenses, including childcare for Reagan, the family's special diet, and medical expenses, as well as allow them the space and resources to explore different avenues to help Hayley adjust to and cope with multiple sclerosis.
