Support Mending Roots in Our Community's Crisis

Hi, my name is Crystal Nero. I live in Asheville, NC and am the owner of Mending Roots Healing center, a therapy practice with 10 dedicated clinicians. Our team values social justice and operates as an anti-racism, LGBTQ+ supporting practices, always striving to create a space for everyone in our community.

Recently, Asheville and surrounding areas were devastated by a powerful hurricane, and our clinicians have been out in the community offering support in every way we can. We're delivering supplies, water, and providing mental health first aid to those in need. However, due to the severe damage- including indefinite loss of clean water- we are unable to conduct therapy sessions. Without clear timeline for when these basic services will be restored, our paid work has come to a standstill.

This GoFundMe has been set up to help our clinicians, the helpers on the front lines, who are unable to earn an income during this time. These funds will allow them to continue their work in the community while also helping supplement lost income and supporting their own families through this incredibly difficult period.

We believe that healing is both a personal and collective journey, and right now, we're asking for your help. Any contribution, big or small, will make a world of difference to our clinicians, allowing them to keep serving the community while weathering the storm themselves.
