Support and Healing for Eunhwa
Donation protected
Many of you have heard about the tragedy in Itaewon, South Korea over the Halloween weekend. Over 150 lives lost during a stampede from overcrowding in this busy neighborhood. Many can’t imagine going through something like this, yet, Eunhwa Sarah lived through it. Eunhwa has lived in Korea for 11 years. One of her many jobs, to support herself and her daughter, is as a bartender in Itaewon. Eunhwa was working on the night of this horrific event. She, along with her friends, were some of the early helpers. She screamed for help, she ran through the streets where dead bodies were strewn. She did not run away, she ran toward others to help save lives in any way she could. How can one go back to life as normal after experiencing a violent and traumatic event?
As a foreigner in South Korea, support can be challenging to find as well as expensive. Eunhwa will start therapy for the PTSD she is suffering from and will also not work in Itaewon until she can heal. While she will be losing this source of income, all her mental health expenses will come out of pocket. I am putting together a "go fund me" for people to donate to support her during this difficult time. Anything you can offer can help lighten her burden so she can heal without the weight and fear of being unable to support herself.
No one can do this alone, so let’s not let her have to.
