Support Heather & family

Hello, I made this fundraiser for Heather Dannhoff Ogden and her family. I want to help raise money for any expenses they may need. Heather is greatly loved in our community and she needs our help and support. Thoughts and prayers are also greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Heather took ill and was diagnosed in April with a liver disease while visiting family in Massachusetts. Since her diagnosis she has followed all doctors orders without fail and had an appointment at UW Madison for preliminary liver transplant diagnosis in hopes of beating this life setback.

On Tuesday July 11 Heather went in for a routine EGD for esophageal varicies when one burst, during the procedure, she was taken to the ER for surgery and subsequently placed in the ICU where she was put on a ventilator and heavily sedated. Since that time she has been fighting from a punctured lung and infection which happened due to the complications of the burst varices at Marshfield Hospital in Weston.

Sunday July 16 about 11 pm she was air lifted to UW Madison.

Friday July 21 we received the news that she was accepted to get a liver transplant and is near the top of the transplant list due to her deteriorating condition.

Heather has currently been in the hospital for 3 weeks and will likely stay there until a transplant is received. She will not be able to work for a few months after the transplant. After the liver transplant she will most likely be in the hospital for 2-3 weeks and then 24/7 care for 6 more weeks. Doctors are advising it often takes a few months for transplant patients to fully recover. With Heather and Steve being self-employed, any help would be much appreciated.

UPDATE:

Tuesday August 1st at 830 am Heather went in for her liver transplant. The surgery took just under 7 hours and was uncomplicated.

Thursday August 2 at 1230 pm Heather was taken back into surgery they had to re-open her whole incision up found a 4 liter blood clot in her abdomen. She is now back in the ICU.

Heather will now stay in the ICU for 2-4 days and then move to the transplant unit for 2-3 weeks. She then will need 24/7 care and will stay with Allyn and Tammy in Oshkosh, so she can be close to Madison and quick medical care should she need it.

It will be a long recovery and when she returns to Steve and Mercer she will still have healing to do.

We appreciate all of the support of family and friends and will update Heathers condition as available.
