Support Heather in her recovery from hurricane Helene

My dear friend Heather Schafer, who is too humble to ask for help, but yet gives her time volunteering even now is suffering tremendous loss. She has been housesitting for the past month in Lake Toxaway/Cashiers area & was informed yesterday, that all of her personal belongings: an entire homes worth of furniture, paintings, decorations, jewelry, electronics, kitchenware, memories, clothing and toiletries besides what she has with her, was completely demolished or swept into the river where it was being stored until she moves into her new place next month. Also, her acquaintances brand new Airstream RV that was on the premise that she was going to stay in, if needs be, until her new living situation becomes available is beyond saving. She was not able to get to her daughter, make phone calls concerning friends or family, or leave the vicinity to even try to prevent it from happening in the timeframe she had. No Internet, electricity, food, gas, and she still made it work cooking with propane and candles for light for close to a week alll the while using lakewater to bathe, fill the toilet & sharing canned food with her cats. She is resilient realizing and thankful that she is alive and well and others have it much worse than she does, but will have to start completely from scratch. FEMA denied the claim making it difficult, because where her belongings and the majority of her business equipment has been, is not what they consider her primary residence. Her daughter is now subletting that space with roommates l and is one of the very few places that miraculously and fortunately are unscathed. With that said, the warehouse space property was insured, but not the personal belongings inside of it because of some stipulations and different entities utilizing the space for various reasons. Let’s offer our support and facilitate her getting back on her feet during these uncertain times, as she will be trying to start over with nothing and will have to face the difficulties, loss of clientele, paperwork, phone calls and mental stress that will come along with it. I’m sure as stubborn as she is receiving assistance and accepting handouts, it is needed/deserved & will be highly appreciated for herself, daughter and pets
