Support Heather's Battle Against AML

Hi, my name is Tracy Howard and I want to help try and raise funds for my cousin and her daughter. My cousin's name is Miranda Fowler, and her daughter is Heather Fowler. (Please bear with me as I type this out and hope I get everything correct!)

So, this bright, beautiful, full of life girl you are seeing in the picture is Heather. Heather the past couple of months hasn't been feeling the best, but as most 20 somethings ignored it and kept living her best life. A couple weeks ago she started noticing bruising and started having hard to control nose bleeds. When Heather and her family returned from vacation her mother thought it was best to see a doctor and on Monday while she was still home, she did that, but was still awaiting test results. On Tuesday, she got another nosebleed that didn't want to stop so she called her mom to tell her and let her know that something just didn't feel right. Miranda immediately jumped in the car and headed to Wichita to take her to the ER. The ER did blood work and immediately admitted her. At that time, they found out she only had 5% of her platelets and so then they transferred her to Via Christi Hospital/St. Francis in Wichita.

Today the news came down that Heather has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), also known as the Red Devil. Heather is starting chemo tomorrow (4/26/2024) and will have to remain in the hospital under care for a month. During that time visitors will be restricted especially for the next 2 weeks due to her immune system. Prognosis they are getting told is 80% remission after treatment.

Miranda plans to stay up there the entire time so I volunteered to help first by starting this fund for them. These funds will help with medical bills, travel, and overall living expenses while Heather is in the hospital.

To know Heather is to love her. She is truly one of a kind and has a vivacious spirit for life! She is so strong, and I personally believe she has so much fight in her and is ready for this battle.
