Hello, everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Melissa and I want to share a story of strength, resilience, and the power of community. My beloved sister, Heather, has been facing one of the toughest battles of her life, and she needs your help.

Heather's Journey:

In December 2022, Heather received a devastating diagnosis of breast cancer. Without hesitation, she embarked on a brave journey to fight this disease head-on. From December 21 to early May, she endured grueling chemotherapy sessions that shrank her tumor and seemingly eliminated the cancer from one lymph node. We celebrated these small victories, but we knew there was a long road ahead.

On June 15, Heather underwent a lumpectomy and lymph node dissection, a procedure that turned out to be more intense than we anticipated. Fifteen lymph nodes were removed, along with more breast tissue than initially planned. Her resilience during the recovery period, spent at our parents' house, was nothing short of inspirational.

Now, in September, Heather has begun radiation therapy. With each passing day, the medical bills are mounting. The financial burden has taken a toll on her, especially as she had to take time off work for surgeries and countless doctor appointments. Despite it all, Heather continued to work through chemo and radiation, although not at full capacity due to her treatments.

Heather is a devoted wife and mother to a loving husband, an energetic son, and a wonderful stepdaughter. She is the rock of her family, and her determination to provide for them during this challenging time is unwavering.

However, the cost of her ongoing treatment to prevent the breast cancer from returning is substantial, and it will continue for the next few years. With 20 more radiation treatments to go this year alone, alongside other necessary medical expenses, Heather is facing a financial burden that is too heavy to bear alone.
