Hi, my name is Criselda Herrera. My sister Cindy Villescas and I unexpectedly lost our brother Hector Barraza in a drowning incident on June 17, 2024 in Las Cruces, NM.

On Sunday June 16, Father's Day, Hector was rafting the river with two of his grandkids. From what we understand he and the kids got caught in a current which took our brother under water. He did everything he could to get the kids out of the current and onlookers were able to jump into the water to get the kids to safety. Unfortunately, Hector did not make it out of the current and after 15 hours of searching, his body was found Monday mid-afternoon.

Hector leaves behind 2 kids Matthew Barraza and Pamela Barraza and 5 grandkids.

Hector's absence leaves a huge void in all our hearts. We are reaching out for help to cover funeral expenses. Any amount donated would be greatly appreciated during this difficult time.
