Derby Native Wildlife Inc was started by Heidi and Ray in 2018.
They rescue, rehabilitate and release Australian wildlife. The house and property has been built to suit the needs of the animals, and provide adequate space for more animals to come. Just the food for all of the animals costs roughly $2,500/month out of their pockets. A few backpackers decided to start this fundraiser to help them out. There are 4 of us from different countries living and working here to care for the animals, so we are seeing first-hand that this place needs to be here, and these people are doing something truly amazing.
The money will be used for food, medical care, and upcoming projects such as extensions to the property to provide more space for the roos. They are also working to improve release techniques, and create a pre-release area and procedure to ease the animals into their new lives in the wild. These new projects will rely on donations and your support to continue rescuing and caring for wildlife.
