Support Heidi's U.S. Slow Travel Bike-Book Tour

Hello, I'm Heidi an author, slow traveler, and artist. I rode across the country in 2010 and wrote a memoir about it, Heidi Across America - One Woman's Journey on a Bicycle through the Heartland, which publishes April 30, 2024. Beginning in May this year, I’m headed across America again to launch my book and speak with people throughout the nation about what’s special about where they live and engage with them heart to heart. I expect to be out six months. In an election year when it seems we’re more divided than together, I aim to find pathways that connect us, that remind us of the goodness in each other, and that bring us home to the spirit of place that is America.

I see long-distance bike touring as serial investments in rural communities, and it’s extremely important to me that I buy something in the towns I travel through. I expect to visit more big cities during Heidi Across America 2024 than I did in 2010, and the options below are reflective of the differences I anticipate.
