Support Helen's 50-Mile Mission
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Helen, Chair of Orwell Housing Association, and I'm about to take on a 50-mile charity cycle ride to shine a light on the urgent issue of reduced funding for homeless housing in Suffolk. This vital journey is not just a ride—it's a mission to safeguard the future of supported accommodation for those in dire need.
Why am I doing it?
Orwell Housing Association oversees a number of facilities that provide a lifeline to individuals at risk of homelessness or escaping domestic violence and while I understand the need for authorities to make difficult funding decisions both at local and national levels, these decisions shouldn’t be at the cost of temporary supported housing which provides a lifeline for many.
My Goal: While raising awareness of the funding cuts I would also like to support Orwell’s Make a Difference Fund. This internal fund is dedicated to helping Orwell customers during times of need, providing that extra bit of help that can make all the difference.
The Route: On May 24th, I will cycle 50 miles and cover a route that starts and finishes at two of Orwell’s Temporary Supported Housing schemes, Hinde House in Norwich and Christchurch House in Ipswich. I will also have some Orwell helpers along the way.
Your Role: By donating, you become part of this journey. Your contributions will help us to continue making a real difference in the lives of many because everyone deserves to have a safe place to call home with the care and support they need to live their best life.
Thank you, Helen.
