Hi, I'm Helory Laurent, a recent Southern New Hampshire University graduate who earned my Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, now my third degree. Since earning my bachelor's degree in 2016, I have been trying to start a career in publishing, relentlessly searching and applying for jobs while working a few retail and customer service jobs. Unfortunately, after so many years of searching to no avail, I have given up that dream and turned to marketing, where I have at least managed to take on an internship, though unpaid, this year. I've been continuing the job hunt tirelessly and to no avail, even looking for retail and customer service/support work; it has been a struggle as most companies have not gotten back to me at all, ghosted me, or are "ghost listings." I'm currently unemployed, and while I consider myself fortunate enough to be able to live at home with my mother, I still have bills to pay. It's the first time in years that my financial situation is so harmful to the point I'm unsure of how I can pay my bills on time or at all. It's also the first time I'm asking others, outside of a few relatives, for help. I'm dealing with feelings of insecurity, embarrassment, and frustration. However, I understand that, unfortunately, it's not uncommon, and I am not the first to ask for assistance.
As I continue the search through this awful job market, I'm asking for help to get by. I don't plan to give up, but I do need help. If there is anything that you can give, I'll be forever grateful and appreciative. Thank you.
