Support Hend to Finish her Medical School
Donation protected
Hello and thank you for taking a moment to read our story. I'm Intimaa Abuhelou, a dentist, a Fulbright scholar from Gaza, and currently a graduate student in Public Health at St. Louis University in the USA. Two years ago, I came to the US, hoping to recover from the trauma of surviving the five wars I lived through in Gaza. But I never imagined that I would now be living through the trauma of watching my family try to survive a genocide from afar, feeling powerless to be with them or help them in any way.
Today, I reach out for your support on behalf of my sister, Hend AbuHelou, a 19-year-old aspiring surgeon whose dreams have been jeopardized by the conflict in Gaza. Despite the adversities, Hend completed her high school with an impressive 98.1% in 2022 and embarked on her medical studies at Al-Azhar University in Gaza. Hend kept an impressive GPA of 95.8% in her medical studies so far, reflecting her dedication and talent in the field of medicine. Her ambition was cut short when her university was destroyed in the recent war, halting her education and the hopes of many young aspiring medical professionals.
Hend's passion for medicine and her dream to save lives as a surgeon remain undeterred. She wishes to continue her medical education abroad, where she can study in a stable environment and ultimately contribute to healing and hope, both in Gaza and globally. To realize this, we need your help to raise $100,000, which covers the tuition fees and living expenses for Hend's five-year MBBS program in Qatar. Every donation brings us closer to giving Hend the education she deserves and the future she dreams of.
"Despite everything, my dream of becoming a surgeon is stronger than ever. This isn't just for me; it's for every person I'll have the chance to help in the future." - Hend AbuHelou
The total cost of this endeavor, including tuition and living expenses, is substantial, but with your help, we can make Hend's dream a reality. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings Hend a step closer to resuming her education and working towards a future where she can make a significant difference in the lives of others.
We are committed to transparency and will provide updates on Hend's journey and how the funds are being utilized. Your support not only aids in Hend's educational pursuit but also stands as a beacon of hope and solidarity with those whose lives are disrupted by conflict.
Please, join us in supporting Hend's journey back to her medical studies. Your support is not just a donation; it's a lifeline. Thank you for considering our campaign!
To support Hend's education in Qatar, we are seeking $100,000, which will substantially cover the costs associated with her medical school journey. Here is a breakdown of the estimated expenses:
- Tuition Fees: $75,000 (Approximately $15,000 per year)
- Living Expenses: $60,000 (Estimated at $1,000 per month)
- Books and Materials: $5,000 (An essential part of medical education)

Intimaa Abuhelou
