Support hero on his path to recovery
Donation protected
On Wednesday 30th of August 2023, outside the Southport library, an out-of-control vehicle mounted the footpath and headed towards Casey and a 4-year-old girl at high speed. In what police have called an act of heroism, Casey took the full force of the collision and in doing so, saved the young girl’s life. Casey was thrown 2-3 metres before impacting a concrete wall and then landing heavily on the concrete footpath. While the young girl was able to be discharged from the hospital that same night, Casey was not so lucky.
Casey suffered very serious injuries including multiple spinal injuries, 35 staples to his head, various deep lacerations and wounds. We are taking things day by day and as time goes on, we are also learning about new injuries. He is scheduled to undergo spinal surgery and has a very long road to recovery ahead of him. Casey also works as a stunt performer and at this time we are unsure what the future holds and when he might be able to return to work, if at all.
Casey’s life changed in an instant and there continues to be a lot of uncertainty surrounding his recovery.
We are asking for your support during this difficult time to assist with Casey’s ongoing expenses while he remains incapacitated and unable to return to work. Any support would be greatly appreciated.
