INSPIRED: Love & Care for Deetjen's Big Sur Inn

Dear Friends and Lovers of Deetjen’s,

On Saturday March 30 a section of Highway 1 approximately 12 miles North of Deetjen’s (between the Inn and Carmel) slipped out and left only one navigable lane to Big Sur. Deetjen’s relies on you, the traveling public, to sustain our operations and our mission of preserving and restoring the Inn.

Back in 2017 (and again in 2020) Deetjen’s humbly asked for your financial support. Your gracious donations of every size sustained Deetjen’s and breathed such inspired-life into the Inn that we completed a mission-driven five-year plan in which damaged historic buildings are restored, major infrastructure is fortified, sustainable business practices are yielding on-going results, and a substantial reorganization is actively leading us into a long bright future.

The sudden halt of business at the tail end of our successful five-year plan has stalled our project momentum. We still have work to do in furtherance of our mission to preserve, rehabilitate, and restore historic Deetjen’s Big Sur Inn. Your donation ensures that we stay on track with our progress; that we continue caring for the Inn; and that we stay ready to welcome you as soon as you care to return.
