U Hla Aung Kyaw, Beloved Father's Last Journey to Say Final Goodbye
Dear Relatives & Friends of Our Family,
I am writing to you to let you know about our great loss – U Hla Aung Kyaw, my beloved father, and Dr. Hla Hla Myaing's beloved husband.
On Sunday, August 18, 2024, he peacefully passed away after battling with colorectal cancer for almost 3 years.
Due to unexpected complications, he had to spend his final days of 3 months at UCSF Medical Center. His family only can be there most of the week. No matter, he was able to get through such difficult time with determination and courage, while meditating and listening to the Buddha's teachings.
Until last moment, he thoughtfully managed to take a really good care of his wife, Dr. Hla Hla Myaing, with Alzheimer's disease that has started since pre COVID-19 pandemic time.
He was our phenomenal guiding light in darkness and invaluable words of wisdom when in need. It would be truly devastating without him around in this paradox of life.
He was a great father. A great husband. A great man devoted to his family.
We would like to provide him with the dignified and heartfelt last journey that he deserves.
A lot of family members and friends have asked. The struggle has been real and overwhelming for our family, so I’ve started a fundraiser to accept donations for U Hla Aung Kyaw’s funeral and memorial services.
