Support Holden's surgery & recovery!

Hi, my name is Holden. You probably already know me if you're reading this, but if not, I'm a 33-year-old Library King (circulation manager for the boring people), college student, writer and Cat Dad. I also happen to be a transgender person. While I have been living as my authentic self for several years, on June 18, 2024, I will be undergoing gender affirming surgery to masculinize my chest to help bring my body in line with the rest of me. I'm really excited to be able to take this step in my transition and looking forward to the boost in my comfort and self-confidence this procedure will give me.

Unlike many transgender men, I have good insurance and access to PTO, which will help reduce the cost and stress that goes into getting this procedure. With that being said, the cost is not insignificant, and I'm a single guy on a 1-man income. I'd like to spend this summer focusing on my recovery from my surgery, and if you'd like to help make this time a little easier for me to manage, please consider donating to this fundraiser.

Though I'm the sort of person who always throws down whatever I can spare when the people in my life need to crowdsource a financial matter, I went into this process very resistant to asking for help and was fully anticipating being on my own. I realize how silly it is to say something like that in this economy, and that it's a total underestimation of the people in my life who are happy to have my back. Any funds I'm able to raise will go toward covering my copay and the supplies I'll need for my recovery. In the event that I raise more than what is needed to cover my expenses, I will donate the remainder to Transhealth.
