Support horses used for Samber RDA during COVID-19

We are a family run riding school which is struggling financially due to COVID and has received NO financial support or loans from the Government or other organisations. We loan horses and ponies to SAMBER RDA for their riding sessions and also provide riding experiences to riders with additional needs, in addition to riders of all ages and abilities. We offer work experience to persons of all abilities and are fully inclusive. We also organise and host the annual Surrey Ride 4 Life sponsored horse ride and have to date raised over £50000 for Cancer Research Uk. Gayle, the yard owner, has a Disabled daughter and providing opportunities for children and adults with additional needs is a personal passion for Me. Many of the horses and ponies are ONLY used for disabled riding and these sessions ceased in March and cannot resume due to the Government guidelines as riders with additional needs require more physical support whilst on or around a horse. We now are in a fight for survival to still be here when theses riding sessions can resume. The ponies and horses used for the special needs sessions STILL require feed, hay, day to day care, farrier, dentist, and vaccinations.  The riding school itself, has reopened but we are now in financial CRISIS from being closed and still yet still providing all the riding school horses and ponies, including those used for special needs sessions, with the usual care requirements to pay for.  As such, we are unable to financially continue to support the horses and ponies that are
ONLY used for special needs riding sessions.  

In addition one of our most popular ponies that we use for special needs riding sessions (and who is a Samber RDA favourite) became very ill during lockdown and required emergency hospitalisation. As this was an illness (life threatening) and she is 26 years old, her insurance did not cover her treatment and veterinary bill! She has now fully recovered and has a veterinary bill of £1900. 

We desperately want to still have these horses and ponies available for Samber RDA and our other special needs riders to be able to use, when Government guidance allows them to return. 

We, more than most, understand how this pandemic has caused us all to struggle mentally and financially but, if you are able to spare ANYTHING to support towards the costs of these horses and ponies so they can still be here to provide safe, therapeutic riding sessions when they can, we and the children/adults we support would be forever grateful. 

it is so hard to ask for money, but this is a desperate situation. Though the amount we are hoping to raise seems large, it is only part of the amount we need to ensurethe future of this valuable service as we are already four months into major financial struggles to care for theses horses and ponies.

Any money kindly donated will be used for the ongoing care and bills associated with the horses and ponies who are used for Samber RDA and our other special needs sessions and if there is anything spare this will go towards the costs incurred for these ponies over the last four months.
