Support Howard Grotts' Road to Recovery

Teammates of Howard Grotts have built this fundraiser to help support teammate & professional cyclist with medical bills and helicopter transport from his recent bicycle crash during the Breck Epic stage race on August 16th. He is in stable condition and under great care at a hospital in Denver, but his road to recovery will take time and support from his loving community.

Howard Grotts is one of a kind—very humble, kind, grounded, and quite humorous. On the Specialized Off-Road team he’s the one who keeps things light hearted and fun when the tensions high on race week.

Growing up in Durango, Colorado, Howard was raised in a booming cycling community that's home to a legendary youth development program, Durango Devo. Howard quickly became one of the fastest riders in the world, winning countless national titles, Cape Epic (in both 2018 and 2024), 3-time Leadville 100 MTB winner, and Olympian. Accolades aside, Howard simply loves riding and loves giving back to the sport by mentoring young riders in his community.

We have set our fundraiser at $50k since most medical insurances don’t cover life flight expenses.
