Help Launch Hugo’s Future in Space Studies

My Story
Do you remember being told as a child to “reach for the stars”? For 10-year-old Hugo, perhaps thanks to a little neurodivergence, I took that advice quite literally. Now, at 23, I’ve been accepted into the prestigious International Space University (ISU) to pursue a Master’s in Space Studies. It’s a dream come true, but one that comes with significant financial challenges.

Space has captivated me from a young age. My journey began with a work experience program at University College Dublin, where I witnessed the early stages of EIRSAT-1, Ireland’s first satellite. Working alongside astrophysicists, I learned about space exploration and the technology behind it, sparking a lifelong passion. Inspired, I even bought a telescope to capture my own photos of the Moon.

Since then, I’ve pursued every chance to gain hands-on experience in Ireland’s space sector. During my studies, I interned with Realtime Technologies, getting to work alongside Dr. Norah Patten, a leading advocate for space exploration in Ireland. These experiences, paired with my studies in sustainable engineering, drive my commitment to advancing Ireland’s role in the global space industry.

I am proud to be the first generation in my family to attend higher education and the first to be accepted into a Master’s degree program. This incredible opportunity to study at the prestigious International Space University (ISU) for a Master’s in Space Studies is a dream come true—but one that can only be made a reality with your support.

Throughout my undergraduate studies, I worked tirelessly to cover my tuition and living expenses, overcoming socioeconomic barriers every step of the way. Now, as I strive to take the next step in my education and career, I’m reaching out for sponsorship to help me achieve this milestone.

Any amount of support will make a difference in helping me access this world-class program, where I can gain the interdisciplinary skills and knowledge to contribute to Ireland’s growing role in the global space sector.

Why ISU?
The International Space University (ISU) is a one-of-a-kind institution dedicated entirely to space education, training students and professionals from all over the world. This interdisciplinary Master’s program will give me in-depth knowledge in space engineering, exploration, policy, and even entrepreneurship, which is crucial for shaping Ireland’s position in the future space economy. With Ireland’s space sector rapidly expanding, I want to bring back knowledge and skills that will empower our nation to play an active role in space exploration.

The Impact of Your Support
As an ISU graduate, I’ll be equipped to work on innovative space projects, contribute to Irish-led missions, and even help establish startups that strengthen Ireland’s space industry. This opportunity would enable me to contribute meaningfully to our nation’s future in space—and maybe one day even represent Ireland as an astronaut!

Your donation will help cover the tuition fees and living expenses needed to attend this program.

How You Can Help
Any donation, big or small, will make a huge difference in making this dream possible. Please consider contributing to my campaign and sharing it with others who believe in supporting Ireland’s next generation of space leaders.
