Support Zue’s Shepherding Community Aid Trip

Hey folks! I have decided to go do some humanitarian work overseas and could really use some support for airfare and lodgings if you have the means.

At the end of August, I will be leaving for over a month to help protect shepherding communities that are being harassed off their ancestral lands as a volunteer with an established group. There’s been an ask for people to come and stand in between and document what is happening in these communities who are being targeted for their land to build new settlements. Water has been repeatedly cut off, water tankers attacked and fences put up to prevent these communities from accessing water. Communities who have had oversight by people of the international community are experiencing less resource interruptions and less violence. This is working against colonial settler violence which I am not directly naming so this doesn’t get taken down.

Many of you know me as someone who believes in direct action helping solve problems, standing up for what is right and using the privileges I have to advocate for others. For those who don’t, I’m an Army veteran who deployed 09-10. I now advocate for ending all occupations and have been involved in mutual aid for over 10 years. I have unique experiences and qualifications that make this task a suitable peacekeeping mission for me.

Funded or not, I am scheduled for this trip but if you would like to help be a part of a physical show of solidarity and help me, I would appreciate it!

Breakdown of costs:

$1,300 for airfare and travel

$1,200 for food, lodging, SIM card, and a cheap phone

I still have my rent, bills, insurance, and all of that to cover which is fully my responsibility and not included in any of this. This also doesn’t include any money for bail or hospital just the basics. It is hard for me to ask for help but I truly believe this is a needed response and something I have unique qualifications for.

I am asking for help to get me to a spot to actively make a difference in what we have been watching unfold and join others in international solidarity to show we are not turning away and will not allow these acts to continue unnoticed or undocumented.
