Support Hunter Jatko's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
Hello, we are the family and friends of Hunter W. Jatko. We are raising funds for the long term care and quality of life for Hunter Jatko. Hunter is only 19 but went into heart failure in September of 2023. Since then he has had a perilous journey of near misses to his life, endless medical procedures and has had to relearn to walk, talk, eat and regain his motor function. Hunter was given an LVAD, a pump next to his heart that circulates his blood for him because his heart no longer functions at capacity. Hunter is required to either plug in his LVAD into the wall or rely on battery packs to keep him alive. Hunter is home with his family as of May and continues to make great progress each day. Although great strides have been made, Hunter still has a tough road ahead as he awaits a new heart in future. Because of his age and the pump he has, he will most likely have to wait many years to receive a transplant. In the meantime, Hunter is unable to work and has limited physical ability which makes him completely dependent on others for his basic needs. Hunter's weeks are filled with visiting hospital staff to his home and trips to Tufts in Boston for routine check ups and procedures and hotel stays.
We are looking for donations to help Hunter regain the quality of life someone his age deserves, most importantly his independence and peace of mind to secure his most basic needs without having to ask for money for gas, food and car repairs. The Trust of Hunter William Jatko Supplemental Needs was created in May 2024 to ensure that Hunter has all of his needs met now and far into the future without it effecting his insurance coverage or eligibility status for benefits.
