Support Hussam Al-glzin's Medical and Evacuation Needs

Hi there! I am Isha Khosla from New York City and I am raising money on behalf of my friend Hussam Al-glzin. I learned about his story from a mutual friend Chloe Sutton. He needs money not only for life saving medication and procedures, but also to evacuate alongside his family to safety.

“Hello, My name is Chloe Sutton & I am a personal trainer currently living in Newcastle, Australia who is trying to help Hussam Al-glzin- a wheelchair basketball athlete to evacuate Gaza with his family.

I am collecting donations for Hussam and his family to escape the war.”

Hussam is a 24 year old wheelchair basketball athlete for Palestine. He sustained an injury from a bombing in 2014. At only age 14 he became paralyzed from the waist down. He needs a complex surgery that is also not available to him.

He also lives with Hemophilia, a rare blood condition. This prevents his blood from clotting and could lead to severe bleeding from a minor injury. Because of this, he needs life saving medication on a regular basis. Not only is it expensive but as situations have gotten worse, it is not accessible to him currently.

Update as of 6/14/24: Hussam's condition has gotten more serious. He now has a tumor in his foot for which he needs chemotherapy.

Before the war, Hussam worked as a basketball coach for children also in wheelchairs. He also played basketball at the Al Salam Club for people with disabilities.

Hussam lived with his family in the Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza. His family consists of his mother, Basma, his father, Reda, older brother Ihab, twin sister Claudia, and younger brother Ibrahim.

After his family home was destroyed, Hussam and his family fled south. They are sheltering in a tent in the streets of Rafah near the Egyptian border. However due to the constant bombing they have been displaced multiple times and have to move around frequently.
