Support IEC’s Community Building Farm Project

Hi friends,
We are launching our annual campaign to cover a year’s worth of personal expenses for our radical farming project in the Catskills. We are employed by the people we serve in the Bronx and beyond. It is our goal this season to continue intentional food distribution as well as filling our fridges. It is also our goal to continue providing farm education, deep thought exploration and critical communication to our communities along with shares to those who have lifted us up and inspired our path in the first place.
In 2020, we assisted 18 gardens with growing and distributing food for mutual aid at the height of the pandemic and supported the founding of the Bronx Farm Hub Project and the Highbridge Community Farm Hub Coalition.
In 2021, we piloted our collective business and grew 1,200lbs of food on ½ acre in Schoharie,NY and distributed to multiple mutual aid organizations in the Bronx and Albany.
In 2022, while incubating at Star Route Farm, we grew more than 10,000lbs of food on 7 acres in Charlotteville, NY and distributed to our mutual aid partners in The Bronx and NYC.
This season with your support we are:
We are committed to living and working together to make this project more sustainable both financially and communally. We envision long term community building with others and collectively pay for rent, utilities, food and the cost to keep our vehicles running safely for distribution. Our fundraising goal is $40,000. Each season we have crowdsourced these funds so that we can keep our focus on the work of building a sustainable food system while we build up our communal wealth. By donating and sharing this post, you bring us all closer to the world we need and want to see.
Please consider making a donation today and help us continue to feed and educate our communities.

This season with your support we are:
- Making 20 mutual aid food drops to the Bronx and Catskills Region, prioritizing our partners, the Bronx Friendly Fridge.
- Building out our community garden, hosting workshops, youth visits and workdays, skillshares and learning opportunities for farmers in the Bronx & Delaware County.
- Advocating for equitable land access policies to be enacted in this year’s Farm Bill with National Young Farmer’s Coalition, and organizing with their Catskills Chapter.
- Developing the board for the Greater Northern Catskills Agrarian Commons with Catskills Agrarian Alliance.
- Working with local farmers Berry Brook Farm, East Brook Community Farm, River Haven Farm, to share resources and skills while forging deeper connections to the land we intend to steward.
