Support Immediate Relief for Laurel Town after Typhoon

My name is Art Biscocho, currently residing in Tustin, California, USA. I was born and raised in Laurel, Batangas, Philippines.

Laurel is one of the youngest, small, vibrant, and thriving small town. It is nestled in a breathtaking and scenic location like an art-framed photograph, hugging the lake coast to the east and a rugged but well-preserved green terrain on the north-southwestern side with a majestic view of the famed Taal Volcano. Aquaculture, farming, and tourism are the main sources of socio-economic development for the town.

On the 3rd week of October 2024, the furious and powerful storm Kristine (Philippines designated storm name) unleashed its power and devastated almost the whole region of Southern Luzon, and the town of Laurel was one of the most heavily destructed and ravaged. Heavy non-stop rains, joined with strong winds, created flash floods (with trees and mud, etc.) that almost destroyed everything in their path. Almost the whole town was miserable, colossal & indescribable destruction everywhere, the scene is almost beyond recognition and the sad part is it cost human lives, and some are still missing.

Hence, I am humbly asking for your compassion and contribution for this cause. I understand that should I be lucky enough to gather funds, it will never equate to the loss and suffering of all those people affected. However, a bit of help will briefly ease their pain.

I am planning to take a leave of absence from my job for a few weeks and fly to the Philippines as soon as possible. My goal is to talk with local officials and gather some volunteers. I will personally supervise and purchase necessities (food, basic household needs and local over-the-counter medicines). Absolutely, there will be no money to be distributed or donated. All raised donations will be accounted, and transparency will be strictly enforced.
