Support IMNDA

Your help and support are needed urgently to raise money for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA) charity! Currently, the IMNDA and many other charities are experiencing severe financial hardship due to the recent waves of coronavirus and the cancellation of many fundraising events over the last few years, which has significantly impacted their operation and undermined their ability to support vulnerable beneficiaries. The IMNDA provides vital support to approximately 350 people nationwide who have motor neurone disease, support that patients and families would otherwise not be able to receive, as over 80 percent of IMNDA income comes from fundraising.

Mark Attride, a former cyclist with the Killeshin Wheelers Cycling Club, died of motor neurone disease in the autumn of 2015. Mark was a lecturer in higher education, my brother-in-law, and a friend. To honour his memory, my wife and myself will be cycling the spectacular and challenging route of the Ring of Kerry on Friday, the 26th of August. We will be bringing our caravan and staying in a great halting site near Killarney - you’re welcome to come along and join us if you can. The route is 179km long and takes in the rugged and verdant scenery of the beautiful Iveragh peninsular in County Kerry. All camping, food and drink expenses are being met by ourselves, and all money raised goes directly to IMNDA.

Please sponsor us to complete this trip with a donation to IMNDA and help raise vital funds! If you are able to sponsor us to complete the trip with a €10 donation - it would be great; €20 would be brilliant!
