Support Imogen's Treatment for Rare Ovarian Cancer

Donation protected
My beautiful friend Imogen was diagnosed with a very rare form of ovarian cancer on the 26th May 2015 - a day she will never forget.  Imogen was just 28 years old when given this life-changing diagnosis and has fought the disease successfully for 4 years. Last week, she was given the devastating news that despite aggressive endocrine therapy, the cancer has now metastasised throughout her abdomen. She will now undergo 6 rounds of chemo therapy in an aim for stable disease.

Being an extremely rare form of ovarian cancer (2-4%), little study has been conducted to identify the correct type of treatment to deal with this disease. You often have to “think outside the box” and unfortunately, thinking outside the box is not generally covered by Medicare… Imogen and her family have spent so much money already trying to fight for her life. They need a little help now!  Once her chemotherapy is finished, Imogen hopes to proceed with self-funded immunotherapy treatment which may involve travelling overseas for this.

Anyone who knows Imogen will tell you that she has the most beautiful, caring soul and would do anything for anyone. Throughout her cancer journey she has shown immense positivity, strength, tenacity and courage, always putting other people’s needs before her own. She has worked throughout her treatment but has now been forced to leave her job as a veterinary nurse in order to focus on her health in light of her recent CT results.  This has only added to their financial burden.

Imogen married the love of her life, Alexander in April of this year. This should be the happiest time in their lives as newlyweds. Instead, they are dealing with one of the hardest, most traumatic life events a couple can go through.

From the bottom of their hearts, Imogen and her family thank anyone who is able to contribute to her treatment costs, however small.  The world is a better place with this young lady who has positively impacted the lives of so many around her. Please help in any way you can! It is SO greatly appreciated xxxxx
