Support Irene Rodriguez's surgery and recovery

Dear family and friends,

My name is Celina, I am the oldest daughter of Irene Rodriguez.

As many of you all know my mother is a deeply devoted mother, who’s the light of our life; the glue that binds us together, an uplifting spirit, and our strongest supporter; grandmother to 7 amazing grandkids; and a profoundly hardworking, care giver/activity assistant who has spent decades committed to bringing smiles and hope to her patients. Being a witness to her life I’ve seen her endure the bad and the good, all while holding onto her faith.

Her Health History:
Osteoporosis.
She has had a work-related hip injury which resulted in her having a right hip replacement.
She was advised she’d have limited restrictions on her daily life’s routine and is considered partially disabled.
Several years down the road she was diagnosed with a prolapsed uterus, which she obtained at the time of her hip injury and had no knowing of it. Throughout the years she would understand in detail the severity of her prolapsed uterus when she was having other complications, such as discomfort in her left hip which she was advised that further down the road she will more than likely need replaced as well.

She has struggled at work, a job which she has enjoyed and excelled at. And it is because of her restrictions in place, it has caused issues.
But despite her exhaustion, her aching and discomfort, my mother remains the woman I had always known her as: a fighter, someone ready and willing to put in the work, the same tough lady who—no matter her personal problems—always puts the well-being of her family first.

So at 63, my mom has finally decided to retire after her surgery.

But we have encountered an issue in her receiving her retirement benefits.
We have a social security issue, and the state is holding her retirement benefits.
We are trying to get to the bottom of this. But in the meantime, my mother will not be bringing any income till this is resolved.

My mom will be undergoing surgery on November 8, 2023; she will have a hysterectomy to remove her uterus.

Due to the nature of her situation, she needs support as she loses a significant amount of income. She does have medical insurance through her employer for now until she retires, however the hospital requires a minimum down payment before proceeding with surgery.
Initially, these funds will go towards paying rent and bills till we get her retirement benefit situation resolved. Ultimately, any leftover funds will go towards paying her medical bills, which could be staggering. We have asked for $9,000, but in reality, the number needed could be far more.

This is one hurdle she did not foresee or expect.

So it is with a most humble heart that we ask for any type of contribution you can help with.
She, my person, my “everything happens for a reason” mother, is still hopeful, and because of that, so are we.

Anything is greatly appreciated.

May God Bless you all.
Love & Light always.
