Support Isabella Araque's U-Visa Journey
Donation protected
Hi everyone! Thank you so much for clicking on my fundraiser.
My name is Isabella Araque and I am a Venezuelan immigrant who benefits from TPS (Temporary Protected Status) at the moment.
As TPS from my country is about to no longer be an option and leave so many of us without options, I come to you to ask for help for an alternative.
A couple of years ago, I was sexually assaulted.
As much as I'd like to provide details, I can't go deep into the story, but this is something that to this day I am still affected by. Back in the day, I lost opportunities and had to make time to deal with the situation, which was traumatic as well. I am thankful for my therapist, my family, and friends who have offered me support and understanding.
When I was offered the U-visa option, I didn't even want to consider it because I did not want to go through this moment again ever, but as my time is running out, I am unfortunately going to have to go back to this moment. This is a difficult visa to get, it takes time and a lot of people to be involved and agree and sign. Even when starting this process I might not be able to send my case but this is my only option at the moment. It would mean a lot to me if you could help me start my case.
I like to think I am a good addition to this country. I work for the arts and have the pleasure of having a job that helps make theatre more accessible. I foster and take care of dogs in my free time. For the last 6 years, I've made my life here and the thought of having to start over in September when my status is up scares me.
It would mean the whole world to me if you could support me with this!
