Help Isabelle Heal After Tragic Attack

Dear friends,

On the night of September 12th an intruder broke into my best friend’s mother’s home in Ann Arbor, MI and attacked my friend's mom, her partner, and their dog, Isabelle. My friend’s mom was killed, her partner was injured, and Isabelle was seriously injured from stab wounds. Isabelle was taken into emergency surgery at Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Ann Arbor early on Friday and underwent five hours of surgery and is in the process of healing, being loved, and beginning to eat and drink again.

As so very many of you have reached out to my friend and her family asking for ways to help at this unimaginably difficult time, we decided to start a fund for Isabelle’s care. The fund will include her surgery and short-term aftercare to help her heal and begin her life again with the loving support of everyone who knew and loved Isabelle’s mother, Suzie Hammerton, and those who would like to support her family at this very difficult time.
