Support Islamiyah's Recovery: Accommodation and Daily Needs

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Well-Wishers,

I hope this message finds you well. We are reaching out to you today on behalf of our dear sister, Islamiyah, who urgently needs our support during an incredibly challenging time. Islamiyah began a year-long nursing program at Sunderland University in February 2024 with high hopes and dreams for the future. However, her life took an unexpected turn when she was admitted to the hospital with a high fever and multiple enlarged lymph nodes before being found to have a severe life-threatening autoimmune disorder, haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, which causes the cells that normally fight infections in the body to attack other body cells leading to severe multiple organ damage. She subsequently developed severe anaemia and jaundice from the destruction of her red blood cells and then developed thrombotic microangiopathy causing acute kidney failure and making her require dialysis. Over the course of her admission, she also developed heart failure which is still ongoing as well as sepsis with septic shock requiring intubation and ventilation. Her admission was very protracted with several complications leaving her to require prolonged ongoing care.

Her father, Mr Ibikunle, traveled to the UK in July 2024 to be by her side and support her recovery. While some charitable organizations have provided temporary assistance, the financial burden of his unexpected travel expenses and the ongoing costs of daily living and accommodation in the UK have placed an enormous strain on their family. Someone has generously offered his apartment free of charge for three months (August - October), allowing Islamiyah and her father to be close to the hospital. However, Islamiyah will need continued support for accommodation beyond that time and for her daily expenses while she recovers.

Islamiyah's condition requires frequent hospital visits, and her father is unable to work while he remains in the UK to care for her. This has left them in a difficult financial situation, as Islamiyah's needs for food, transportation, and other essentials must be met. We want to ensure that she can focus on her recovery without the added stress of financial insecurity. We are aiming to raise £10,000 to cover the costs of accommodation, daily living expenses, and ongoing medical needs for the next few months until Islamiyah is strong enough to resume her studies and Mr. Ibikunle can return home. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in their lives.

Please join us in supporting Islamiyah and her father during this challenging time. Your donations will go directly towards helping them maintain stable accommodation and access to the care and resources they need. Together, we can help ease their burden and allow them to focus on what truly matters—Islamiyah's health and recovery.

May God reward you abundantly for your generosity and compassion.
