Our dear friend, Ivy Gilday, a beloved hairstylist and avid cyclist, suffered a tragic accident when a compressed CO2 bike pump exploded in their face. They are currently in a medically induced coma, receiving necessary medical treatments. Ivy faces a long road to recovery, including extensive reconstructive facial surgery and procedures to repair lung damage.
This unforeseen event will prevent them from working for a significant period, impacting their financial stability. With accumulating medical bills, mortgage payments, and the needs of their two dogs, we are reaching out for your support to help lift the burden on our sweet friend Ivy and their partner, Skye, during this challenging time.
***Update on Ivy's Recovery
Ivy is awake! Ivy has received initial care, including incubation and a preliminary stitch-up for the lacerations on their face. They were in the medically induced coma until an operating room became available last night. The doctors woke them up today and the long road to recovery begins.
Ivy is incredibly grateful for all the love and support received during this time.
As many of you know, Ivy is a talented hairstylist at Nice Hair Salon in Walker's Point. To support their recovery, the salon will be hosting a Cut-a-Thon on November 17, where all proceeds from haircuts will go directly towards Ivy's recovery ❤️ expenses.
Additionally, Ivy’s dear friend Talia's band will be holding a benefit concert, Ivypolooza, on Sunday, November 10 at 3:00 p.m at Veggas Pub, 2479 N Fratney ST.
