If you know J Scienide, you know that music plays a very important role in his life; his presence in the industry runs the gamut from standing on line for shows and running an indie label to sharing stages and sending feature verses back on time for friends’ projects.
A lifelong student of hip-hop culture and a steadfast supporter of his peers in music, J Scienide is a true friend of the culture. In his time of need, J Scienide is humbly asking the community he loves to return the love and rally around him.
On May 14th, 2024, Ajene' J. Davis –– better known as emcee/producer J Scienide –– went into septic shock after a bump ruptured on his left thigh. Since that date, his life has changed dramatically. He coded twice at the outset of this medical emergency.
As drastic as that experience was, it was only the beginning of a series of serious complications. His long term hospitalization included kidney failure, anemia, depression and the loss of the use of his right dominant hand due to the impact of vasopressors used to save his life.
Taking his very first steps on the road to recovery, J has experienced severe exhaustion and sudden collapses that have taken a harsh toll on his physical and mental health. J is getting stronger everyday with the help of physical and occupational therapy. Through faith and resilience, he is committed to improving. He can’t do that without community.
With your help, J Scienide can begin to address the cost of piling medical bills and living expenses, which include prescriptions, rent and reliable transportation to and from upcoming doctors appointments until he is cleared to drive himself.
Getting back into the swing of everyday life will be difficult but it isn’t impossible. Any donation to J Scienide’s recovery –– big or small –– is a great help. Please consider giving, if you can. Please share with your friends, family and social media followers. If J Scienide’s presence has helped you or inspired you in any way, please consider paying it forward in his time of need.
