Support Jace's Recovery After Devastating Accident
Donation protected
On November 16th at 4:40 PM our lives were changed forever. My husband Jace was involved in a head on collision that has left our family devastated and unsure of what the future holds .
Jace called me on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m to let me know he was about to head home. We had plans to spend time as a family with our two boys Jaxxon (4) and Caden (2). In 10 minutes, everything changed. At 4:40 p.m Jace was met on the highway by an oncoming vehicle that crossed over into his lane. He was struck head on at full speed. Jace was crushed and trapped in his vehicle. He was barely conscious and losing a lot of blood. Jace was hit with such force that he had to be extracted from his truck. Soon after being removed from his vehicle he lost consciousness. He was immediately intubated and careflighted to Harris Methodist Hospital as a Level 1 trauma.
Jace is currently in ICU on a ventilator with severe injuries. He has a broken pelvis, broken left hip, broken femur on both sides, and both tibias are broken in multiple places. Both of his arms are also broken in multiple places. He has a broken rib, several open fractures, a lower lumbar fracture, and a traumatic flank hernia. There are still many tests being done to determine what other internal injuries we may be dealing with.
Jace is alive and that is a true miracle. God was there with Jace in that truck. He wrapped his arms around him and has not let go. My heart is broken and I am honestly not sure how I’m going to get through this. What was supposed to be a normal Saturday night with my husband and babies quickly turned into a nightmare that I can’t escape. My babies can’t even begin to understand what has happened. They do not understand why their daddy isn’t coming home.
On top of the tragedy that our family is facing, we are also left without an income as Jace is the primary provider for our family. We have a long road ahead of us and it is unknown when Jace will be able to get out of the hospital or when he will be able to return back to work. I cannot see it yet, but I know there is a light at the end of this. Jace is strong and he is fighting. Please keep our family in your prayers for the days and weeks to come. If you would like to help support our family with medical and general expenses, we would appreciate it more than you can possibly imagine.
