Support Jacob Loewen in his fight against cancer

Update #3 July 28

Jacob and Helena are currently at home after having been in Mexico for Jacob's third round of chemo. He has and have been doing fairly well, but dealing with exhaustion and some pain which the doctors say are an expected response to the chemo. The doctors also reconfirmed that the cancer looks like lymphoma and seems to be responding well to the chemo in that the swelling in some of the lymph nodes has reduced. They can't tell how the largest tumor near the pancreas is responding, but will know more during Jacob's next visit to Tijuana. Jacob is scheduled for a CT scan to determine if the tumor has shrunk enough to safely surgically remove it. If the tumor needs to shrink more they will give Jacob another round of chemo.

Hello, Jacob and Helena went back to Mexico on June 2nd for Jacob to receive his second round of chemo treatment. The treatments went well and he is doing fairly well, except feeling quite worn out a week or so after the treatments which the doctors say is a normal reaction. He is also dealing with a bad cough and congestion and is taking some antibiotics to try and help get rid of it.

They came back to Canada on June 13th and Jacob has been resting as well as eating foods from the diet that the doctors recommended and taking supplements. He will be going back to the Immunotherapy Institute in Tijuana on the 6th of July and will be receiving another round of 5 doses of chemotherapy before coming back on the 18th.

Die Behandlungen verliefen gut und es geht ihm ziemlich gut, außer dass er sich etwa eine Woche nach den Behandlungen ziemlich erschöpft fühlt, was laut Ärzten eine normale Reaktion ist. Außerdem hat er mit starkem Husten und einer Kopfverstopfungzu kämpfen und nimmt Antibiotika, um ihn loszuwerden.

Sie kamen am 13. Juni nach Kanada zurück und Jacob ruhte sich aus, ernährte sich von der von den Ärzten empfohlenen Diät und nahm Nahrungsergänzungsmittel ein. Er wird am 6. Juli zum Immuntherapie-Institut in Tijuana zurückkehren und eine weitere Runde von 5 Dosen Chemotherapie erhalten, bevor er am 18. zurückkommt.

Jacob and Helena are now back in Canada for 3 weeks to rest and see how his body responds to the chemo that he received while in Mexico.

He received 5 doses of the chemo which were given to him every other day. He also received iron and other supplements twice during that time. The first 3 doses of chemo were harder on his body, leaving him shaky and sleepy, but by the 4th and 5th doses his body handled it much better.

Overall he is feeling better now and is following a food list that the doctors gave to him. They want him to come back June 1st for a second round of chemo, iron, and supplements. The chemo he is receiving in Mexico is more natural based and has less side effects then chemo given elsewhere. We hope that his body will continue to respond well to the treatments going forward.

The tests, chemo treatments, and stay costed roughly $18,000usd and it is expected that the next round will cost about the same.

Jacob und Helena sind jetzt für drei Wochen zurück in Kanada, um sich auszuruhen und zu sehen, wie sein Körper auf die Chemotherapie reagiert, die er in Mexiko erhalten hat.

Er erhielt 5 Dosen der Chemotherapie, die ihm jeden zweiten Tag verabreicht wurden. Außerdem erhielt er in dieser Zeit zweimal Eisen und andere Nahrungsergänzungsmittel. Die ersten drei Dosen der Chemotherapie belasteten seinen Körper stärker und ließen ihn zittrig und schläfrig zurück, aber mit der vierten und fünften Dosis kam sein Körper viel besser damit zurecht.

Insgesamt geht es ihm jetzt besser und er befolgt die Lebensmittelliste, die ihm die Ärzte gegeben haben. Sie wollen, dass er am 1. Juni für eine zweite Runde Chemotherapie, Eisen und Nahrungsergänzungsmittel zurückkommt. Die Chemotherapie, die er in Mexiko erhält, ist natürlicher und hat weniger Nebenwirkungen als anderswo. Wir hoffen, dass sein Körper auch in Zukunft gut auf die Behandlungen anspricht.

Hello, this GoFundMe is being put together by Jacob Loewen's children and their families on his behalf. We are asking for donations for our father, Jacob, who is currently in Tijuana, Mexico at the Immunotherapy Institute undergoing treatment for cancerous tumors found on his spleen.

Jacob has been dealing with health issues since becoming very ill with covid in 2020. He has tried different natural methods to try and improve his health, but nothing has helped with lasting effects so he and his wife, Helena, decided to go to the Immunotherapy Institute in hopes of figuring out the problem and receiving treatment.

While in Tijuana Jacob has undergone testing and was told that he has cancerous tumors, but that the type of cancer is inconclusive. The doctors recommended 5 days of chemo to see how his body and the tumors respond. Depending on how things seem after the chemo treatment will determine what course of action they continue to take.

All funds received will be used to cover Jacob's medical bills as well as his and Helena's stay in Mexico.
