Update 3-11-23 from his Mum & Dad Courtney & Josh.
Wee Jacobs Home!!
It feels so surreal saying this as almost a week ago our life’s had been turned upside down and the dreaded wait ahead of us was just unbearable! Saying good bye and giving our wee man last hugs and kisses is just something no parent should ever have to go through!
Watching our wee man go through everything between blood appointment , scans, pictures, doctors appointments, huge surgery and the days after it, has been a crazy emotional rollercoaster!

And Jacob if you every get to read this when your older I want you to know as your mum and dad we admire the sheer strength and determination you give in any situation you had to face and still do and that you were the reason we could have the strength to carry on! Your cheeky little smile ,your sarcastic comments or just you just being your unapologetic self was what got us through we can not put into words how much we love you and how proud of you we are!!!!

Jacobs vault remodelling surgery went exactly to plan and he has been doing really well even though he has been battling an infection as well as recovering, we still have a long road ahead but his team of surgeons are confident he will make a full recovery and I put that down to Jacob’s strength as well as everyone keeping Jacob in their thought and prayers over the last couple of days, between family and friends , friends of friends and people we don’t even know I can’t begin to tell you how Joshua John Reynolds and I have felt over the last couple of days but knowing Jacob had so many people routing and thinking about him gave us some sort of comfort and I can’t even begin to tell you how thankfull we are for that!

I am going to tag a few people in hope that everyone who has been so generous in giving, Sands United FC Larne, Martin Burnett Rrrrracing and Olderfleet Primary School who shared the Belfast live article https://www.belfastlive.co.uk/news/northern-ireland/motorbike-obsessed-larne-boy-faces-27971882.amp
(Jacob now thinks he’s famous ) who have been asking, messaging, or phoning or thinking about Josh, Logan, Jacob and myself that as a family we can’t even put into words are grateful and appreciative we all our to everyone!!!

We are just so glad to be home and starting our recovery journey with Jacob to get him back to doing the things he loves again and knowing that’s the only worry we have is amazing so thank you all again!!!

Jacob You did it wee man!!! We love you all the way to the moon and back again!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love Mummy and Daddy xxx

Hi my name is Sandy and I’m raising funds to try and help the recovery of my great nephew Jacob who is 5 and lives in Larne.

Next Thursday Jacob is having his first ever trip on an aeroplane. Sadly this first trip is taking him to Liverpool to have brain surgery at Alder Hay hospital as there are no specialists here at home in Northern Ireland that can do what will be around 12 hours of surgery.

Jacobs mum and dad will be with him all the way. His 6 year old brother, Logan will stay with his wider family when they are away and is worried that Jacob won’t remember him after his surgery.

Jacob has chiari malformation craniosyntosis where part of his brain called the cerebellum is pushed through an opening at the bottom of his skull putting pressure on parts of his brain as well as his spinal cord. This is giving Jacob headaches, damaging his spinal cord and already his eyesight has been deteriorating with a further risk of cognitive impairments and seizures.

So Jacob needs to have craniofacial surgery with vault remodelling with lots of plates and screws on the 27th October.

The possibility of further surgery cannot be ruled out as pressure could return.

Jacob is aware of what is ahead of him as much as any 5 year old can understand. He is very upbeat and looking forward to growing up to be a motorcycle rider that he doesn’t stop talking about.

Any and all funds raised will be used to allow his mum and dad to be off work as required over the next 6 months or so to care for Jacob during his recovery and rehabilitation and be with him while he travels for surgery.

Thank you for reading about Jacob. Xx
